SCOTT LEMARR

Founder and President

Paradise Valley resident Scott LeMarr is a successful businessman and community leader, as well as a devoted family man.

Scott is the Founder and President of Palo Cristi Stone Company, one of the premier residential and commercial stone companies in the southwestern United States. The company had humble beginnings in 1985, when it was founded to assist with renovations of historic homes. At the time, it had four employees doing mostly small projects for friends. But since then, the company's emphasis on quality and workmanship have led it to explosive growth.

Palo Cristi Stone Company now has 100 employees and more than $8 million in annual revenue, providing the stone for such noteworthy projects as Anthem, DC Ranch, the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and many others throughout the region. Palo Cristi Stone Company is licensed in three states, and has a strong residential and commercial portfolio — all compiled under Scott's leadership.

Scott is also the founder of Palo Cristi Investments, which has developed more than 300,000 square feet of warehouse space in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area since its inception in 1992. The company has developed four properties on Scottsdale's booming Greenway-Hayden Loop, and manages its own commercial property portfolio as well as serving as a management company for other properties.

Palo Cristi Investments is also active in asset-based short-term lending, as well as land development projects in the Telluride, Colorado area. The two Palo Cristi companies have joined forces in the past to renovate several old adobe homes in the Paradise Valley area.

Scott began his career as a commercial real estate associate with Grubb & Ellis in the late 1970s, and founded a real-estate company that provided his first entrepreneurial experience in the 1980s. That company, LeMarr Limited, fell victim to the real-estate market collapse in the mid-1980s, but provided Scott with invaluable experience that he has used to make all his business ventures since then highly successful.

In 2004, Scott's many years of community involvement reached a high point when he was elected to the Paradise Valley Town Council. He has long been involved with civic affairs, serving as a member and chairman of the Paradise Valley Planning Commission, the Town of Paradise Valley General Plan Advisory Board and the Town's Board of Adjustment.

Scott has been involved with many other boards and civic organizations over the past three decades. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors for Valley Commerce Bank. He also served on the Board of Directors for Biltmore National Bank, which is now Johnson Bank. Scott has served on the Board of Directors for the Small Business Advisory Board of the Department of Labor's OSHA Task Force, and is a member of the Arizona Masonry Guild.

His community and civic involvement has included serving on the Board of Directors for several organizations, including the President's Club at Brophy College Prep, the Phoenix Art Museum's Men's Art Council, Planned Parenthood of Central and Northern Arizona and Arcadia Little League.

Scott was born in Boulder, Colorado, but grew up in the Valley of the Sun since 1956 and is a graduate of Saguaro High School. He attended Dartmouth College and is a graduate of the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.

Scott lives in Paradise Valley with his wife, Teri. They have two grown children, Michelle, recently graduated from the University of the Pacific, and Taber, a scholarship athlete at the University of Wyoming.
